Meet Priscilla Perez

Q. Tell me a little about yourself. Describe your background and how long you have worked for the agency.

Hello my name is Priscilla Perez, and I am a Bilingual Case Manager here at Positive Spin. I have been with the agency five years, and it’s been five very rewarding years. I am originally from the Bronx, New York. I have 5 amazing children, and 4 grandchildren, who are the light of my eyes.

Q. How do you help families?

Here at Positive Spin I have the pleasure of helping families obtain food, clothing, furniture, housing, employment and much more.

Q. Why do you do what you do?

At some point of my early years of life, I too was a struggling young mother who needed assistance, so I understand the struggles that many families have here in Tampa. Helping other families is where my passion is and always will be. To know that I have been able to help a family in need brings joy to my heart, and helps me understand why I went through all that I did in my life. It was to do what I do now, and that’s to help other families, simply because I was once in their shoes. I am living proof that with hard work and determination, one can rise above it all.

Q. Why should I care about what you do for families?

We should all care about what we do for other families because at the end of the day, we are all God’s children. I firmly believe that what I give out to others is what I will receive back. If we all pour out goodness then goodness will return to us.

Q. How has a family's life changed because of you?

Many families are not homeless because of what I was given the privilege to do. I’ve provided countless amounts of resources to my families, so that they would not go without. My prayer is that they keep strong, and keep moving up in life.
